Aker Wayfarer charter extension


AREVA Wind (Adwen) in Germany has on June 1st declared an option to extend the charter of the multi-purpose vessel AKER WAYFARER. The vessel has been operating in the German sector of the North Sea since end-October 2014 connecting offshore windfarm turbines to the German electricity grid and the current contract runs until end July. The charter has now been extended with three months to the end of October 2015 plus options. Late 2015, Aker Wayfarer will go to a shipyard on the westcoast of Norway for 5 year periodic survey (class renewal) and vessel modifications prior to commencing the Petrobras SESVII charter contract with expected start of operations in Brazil during Q3 2016 as previously announced.
