Subsea Equipment Support Vessel (SESV)

Aker Wayfarer is a Subsea Equipment Support Vessel (SESV) operating for OPetrobras off the coast of Brazil. The unit is specially designed and equipped for deepwater subsea equipment installation, intervention or recovery, and represents a first class fiels construction platform for deep and ultra-deep waters.

Delivered in October 2010, she is a sister ship of Skandi Aker, the largest monohull subsea well intervention vessel ever built. The Skandi Aker was the first intervention vessels to be classed with IMO MODU (mobile offshore drilling unit) code, allowing them to carry oil onboard. The Aker Wayfarer is also prepared for the IMO MODU notation.
